»» Description:
La Cúpula [House of Music] is the first independent digital distributor and digital music services provider in the Spanish market. The company is based in Barcelona, and operates directly with an extensive network of leading distribution and business partners throughout the world.
Our revolutionary online digital distribution platform makes the self-distribution of music possible for independent artists and labels. The platform (currently in beta) is under constant development and forms a hub for content delivery towards the world´s leading online music an video stores.
»» Responsibilities and Tasks:
For further growth and expansion of our business, we are looking to recruit a programmer which can take the lead in our technological development, interested in acquiring experience and growing within a startup with a promising future.
The main tasks for the candidate are:
• Specing, engineering and programming of technology infrastructure and applications for our platform
• Working with outside developers on features and engineering
• Monitor service stability and performance, develop enhancements
• Troubleshoot implementations of technology and programs
• Work independently and collaboratively in equal measure with the members of the technology team
• Document current and future configurations, process, techniques and procedures
• Development of plug-ins, widgets and additional functions for the platform on the basis of existing APIs.
• Testing and analysis of new applications
»» Qualifications
• Passion for music
• Experience with complex content management issues, audio / video conversion, metadata, website content and search engines.
• Exceptional Web skills are definitely a necessity.
• Internet savvy, up-to-date with new developments on the web
• Expert data analysis/research skills
• Must be highly organized and capable of developing and keeping to a project timeline.
• Expert level familiarity with HTML, XML, Java, ASP, SSI, PHP, ColdFusion, Perl, Python, MySQL, FastCGI programming languages and practices
• Fluidity in English and Spanish (speaking and writing) are required.
• Possess a positive attitude, an eagerness to learn and a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced work environment while juggling multiple tasks and priorities.
Bonus skills
• Experience with emerging technologies (iPhone, Facebook Platform, OpenSocial, Google app engine)
• Previous experience as chief programmer in IT solutions company and product launch would be a plus.
• Flash expertise (CS3/AS3)
